Wedding Flower Trends 2025

Wedding Flower Trends 2025

I have, rather enjoyably, been stalking photographers, designers, wedding planners, venues, floral designers and wedding & event rental companies over the past few weeks.

I've been struck by floating flower clouds, new runway aisle seating, ribbon bow candelabras and centrepiece cascades of fruit and other non floral materials.

I would like to inspire you to include one or more of these trends in your own wedding flower planning. From your bridal party flowers to dressing the venue, your wedding can be as fashionable and personable as you wish. Whether you embrace a lean towards sustainability or blow the minds of your guests with jaw dropping installations, let this guide steer you towards your perfect wedding visuals.

Remember that the flowers and images will tell your wedding story for years to come. What stories would you like to tell?

Wedding Flower Trend No.1

The Bow Candelabra

I’m not sure who the instigator was of trend number 1 but I think I’m going to award this accolade to Edénique de Beaumont from the Netherlands. ‘It’s not all about flowers!’ she wrote back in May 2023, ‘fabric bows and candles trigger me.’

Ladies, I give you my favourite trend of all; the stacked ribbon bow candelabra.

Edénique Floral Design

Edénique is at the forefront of this stunning trend and is grabbing attention from all around the globe with her candelabras adorned with layers and layers of silk ribbon bows. So much so that the infamous Bridal Journey bookmarked the image above as part of their Wedding Inspiration for their 2024 series.

I can't talk about the 'Bow Candelabra' trend without sharing this exquisite collaboration. A Christmas event in The Wine Cellar of The Lanesborough Hotel in London.

The Runway Aisle

No more crooked necks trying to catch a glimpse of the bride. Runway seating: visually beautiful and refreshingly novel. This layout will get bigger and bigger this year. The beauty of this is that since the look and layout is striking and different to the norm, you don't need to embellish with unnecessary florals if you're trying to be more sustainable and affordable. A simple scattering of petals along the line of the runway would look sensational. Even potted greenery, which can simply be re-homed in the garden after the wedding party.

My favourite option would be a simple row of upright white roses along the runway edge on either side. Exquisite!

Wedding Flower Trend No.3

Classic Green & Whites still reign

As much as bold colour absolutely holds it's own in term of wedding florals, classic green and white's still reign. There will never be a 'one or the other' in the trend stakes. Take yourself to the IG accounts of top worldwide florists and you will see floods and floods of this classic combination which as always, will be a huge trend for 2025 weddings.

Ruth Davis, of All for Love London, dominates when it comes to floral styling. So far, her 2024 weddings have been pure classic whites and greens. Whether in the UK or abroad, classic white flowers have dominated.

A timeless black, white and green colour palette will be loved forever, yet there is a sense now that couples are leaning away from traditional and creating their own 'one of a kind' wedding, incorporating their own personal touches and special intimate additions. This is when classic colour palettes are out and bold fabrics and florals are in.

Why not pair perfectly mismatched bridesmaid dresses with bright handheld bouquets. Bridesmaid dresses that can be worn again and again as opposed to just once, give a nod to your efforts of planning a more sustainable wedding.

I cannot stop looking through the images of this wedding in Miami. Taking bold colour to a whole new level. Bright & Bold Ombré. Exquisitely designed and completely jaw dropping.

 Wedding Flower Trend No. 5

Sustainable Flowers

I have worked on enough weddings to see with my own eyes, the bride and grooms' faces the next morning when they see how many flowers are going to end up in landfill after decorating their special day. More and more I'm seeing faux flowers used in the bridal party flowers and the venue dressing designs. As part of my own wedding service, I offer to untie the bridal and bridesmaids bouquets and create one large floral arrangement in a big stone vase for the bride and groom's home.

Hiring wedding flowers is also a lovely sustainable option. The beauty of this is that you can hire big statement pieces that would ordinarily cost thousands.

Hire for the day, for the storytelling, for the memories.

Smaller Bridal Bouquets

Minimalist bouquets focussed on one single flower rather than bundles and bundles of fresh flowing blooms are taking centre stage in 2025. Go small and intricate. Pick your favourite flower. Something that means a lot to you and go faux. This is a bouquet that can arrive days before the wedding and take one very expensive cost from your list.

Wedding Flower Trend No. 7

Pocket Squares

We've all seen it. The Groom and Groomsmen looking sharp at the beginning of the day with their fresh flower boutonnieres, only to be found later with a limp rose hanging from their jacket.

For all you perfectionists, I give you the faux pocket square. No need to pin to the lapel, simply pop the pocket square into the left pocket the morning of the wedding. It will look immaculate, fresh and very on trend until it is removed in the evening.
