Sustainability

Grey Vine & Co commit to giving 100% effort and continuous learning to walk the sustainable path with regards to our carbon footprint, packaging and waste, our beliefs around floral foam and our methods of recycling.

Carbon Footprint

As a company, we are a certified Carbon Neutral Business

We offset 5 tonnes of carbon and plant 30 trees every month.

Alongside this, when working with fresh flowers, we recognise the impact that importing flowers has on the environment and wherever possible, we'll opt for British grown product as opposed to imported.

The reality of the British climate means that this is not always possible, however we will always provide our clients with the option of sourcing fresh product for their events wholly or partly from British flower growers.

Packaging and Waste

When the flowers arrive here at the studio, we separate and recycle the plastics and the cardboard and then no further plastic is used in gift wrapping and packaging. We always try and use silk chiffon ribbons for our bridal bouquets although often we have special requests for a certain fabric to be used.

The gift boxes and packaging we use is 100% recyclable.

As a company, we re-use as many floristry by products as possible, such as chicken wire, wire frames or plastic water tubes, and these are stored carefully and re-used over and over.

Likewise, every single faux flower stem is used and re-used in different hire pieces and every single leaf and offcut is used in an everlasting faux wreath.

We clean the studio with lemon juice and vinegar in place of chemical spray.

Floral Foam

In all flower arrangements and installations, we will always opt for foam free and environmentally friendly techniques wherever possible. In place of floral foam we will use chicken wire, wire frames and willow bundles.

'Sustainable floristry supports the environmental, social and economic requirements of present and future generations.'
